Arrest Record of Lawyer Accused of 'Jjuyang Threat' and Karakula
2nd Day 2 PM Warrant Substantive Hearing... At the Crossroads of Detention
Detention hearings for lawyer Choi and YouTuber Karakula (real name Lee Se-wook), who are accused of threatening YouTuber Tzuyang (real name Park Jung-won) and extorting money from her, will be held today, the 2nd.
The Suwon District Court will begin the pre-arrest detention hearing (warrant substantive examination) at 2 p.m. for lawyer Choi, the ex-boyfriend of Tzuyang, who is charged with blackmail, and Karakula.
Lawyer Choi is accused of blackmailing Tzuyang, aiding YouTuber Guje-yeok (real name Lee Jun-hee, currently detained) in his blackmail crimes against Tzuyang, and coercion against A, the former CEO of Tzuyang’s previous agency and her ex-boyfriend. Earlier, Tzuyang claimed, “I was afraid of retaliation from lawyer Choi, who knows about my past, so I signed a torture contract and paid 23 million won.”
Karakula is accused of aiding Guje-yeok in the blackmail crimes committed against Tzuyang. Karakula is also under investigation for allegedly conspiring with Guje-yeok to extort 52 million won from another internet broadcaster (BJ) B.
The decision on whether to detain them is expected to be made as early as the night of the 2nd.

Meanwhile, Tzuyang’s side has filed a complaint with the prosecution against Kim Se-ui, the head of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon), Guje-yeok, and Jeon Guk-jin for charges including threats, coercion, and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act.
