Pyeongtaek City Designated as a 'Lifelong Learning City' for the Second Consecutive Time
High Evaluation of Regional Lifelong Learning Center Operations
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 1st that it has been re-designated as a lifelong learning city for the second consecutive time in the "Lifelong Learning City Re-designation Evaluation" hosted by the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education.
In this evaluation conducted on 64 lifelong learning cities, Pyeongtaek City explained that it was recognized for excellence consecutively in the 2nd cycle re-designation evaluation this year following 2021. The lifelong learning city re-designation evaluation is conducted every three years for cities that have been designated as lifelong learning cities for more than four years.
In this evaluation, Pyeongtaek City received excellent ratings in areas such as ▲establishing an appropriate mid- to long-term development plan for lifelong learning cities ▲new recruitment of professional lifelong educators ▲strengthening the linkage of learning club activities and providing customized lifelong learning support by life cycle ▲operating lifelong learning manager courses ▲expanding the operation of lifelong learning centers by region and utilizing local infrastructure.
