“Large Golf Driving Range Next to High School, Noise and Light Pollution?Permit Should Be Revoked Immediately”…Daegu Democratic Party Issues Statement
The Daegu branch of the Democratic Party expressed its opposition in a statement released on the 31st, saying, "A large-scale golf driving range is set to be built right next to a high school in Dalseo-gu, Daegu."
The Daegu Democratic Party stated, "Dowon-dong in Dalseo-gu is a triangular plot of land, with one side adjacent to Dowon High School, another side to an apartment complex with 900 households, and the last side connected to the Dowonji embankment. Installing a large golf driving range in this location will clearly lead to a decline in residents' quality of life due to noise and light pollution, infringe on students' right to learn and residents' right to housing, and ultimately hinder the sustainable development of the local community."
The Daegu Democratic Party continued, "This building permit was granted without adequately gathering local residents' opinions, and no proper public hearings or information sessions were held. Such a decision, which directly affects residents' lives, was made through a non-communicative administrative process. This disregards the residents and fails to uphold even the basic principles of democracy." The party strongly urged, "Dalseo-gu District Office must immediately revoke this building permit. Make a responsible decision that restores trust by prioritizing the quality of life of residents and the sustainable development of the local community."
