Boseong 'Bandabi Sports Center' Selected in Public Contest

Secured 3 Billion Won in National Funding

Contributed to Expanding Sports Infrastructure for People with Disabilities

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Cheol-woo) announced that it has been finally selected for the 2024 Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's public contest project for the community-based sports center (for the disabled) 'Bandabi Sports Center,' securing 3 billion KRW in national funding.

The Bandabi Sports Center contest project is a facility expansion initiative to build sports facilities where people with disabilities can participate in sports activities without restrictions within their living area.

Through this selection, the Bandabi Sports Center is scheduled to be built on a site within Boseong Sports Park, equipped with various convenience facilities such as a multipurpose gymnasium, fitness center, rehabilitation exercise room, and multipurpose room.

Boseong-gun plans to establish detailed plans together with local disability organizations, including the Disabled Sports Association, to successfully build the Bandabi Sports Center, contributing not only to the activation of sports for people with disabilities but also to the expansion of welfare infrastructure for community sports shared with non-disabled people.

Kim Cheol-woo, Governor of Boseong-gun, stated, "The construction of the Boseong Bandabi Sports Center is expected to greatly help improve the quality of life and health promotion for people with disabilities." He added, "We will continue to strive to create conditions for the improvement of sports and welfare for people with disabilities."
