Livestock Environment Management Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture to Be Established in Gongju... Completion Set for 2028
Governor Kim Taeheum Signs Agreement on Government Office Relocation with Director Moon Honggil on 31st
The Livestock Environment Management Institute, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, will be established in Gongju, Chungnam in 2028.
On the 31st, Governor Kim Tae-heum signed a 'Business Agreement for the Relocation of the Livestock Environment Management Institute Office' with Moon Honggil, Director of the Livestock Environment Management Institute, and Choi Woncheol, Mayor of Gongju.
The Livestock Environment Management Institute, currently located in Naseong-dong, Sejong City, has decided to build a new office and relocate due to limited space and insufficient infrastructure compared to its scale.
The institute plans to construct a new office building with a total floor area of 9,400 square meters in Donghyeon-dong, Gongju, by 2028. The total project cost is expected to be approximately 28.5 billion KRW.
The province expects that once the institute relocates, about 20,000 professionals and public officials in the livestock environment sector will visit Gongju annually.
The province plans to begin basic and detailed design services in March next year and start construction in 2026.
Governor Kim stated, "Chungnam is easily accessible from anywhere in the country and has abundant infrastructure, making it the optimal location for public institutions. We will make every effort to secure national funding and ensure the prompt relocation of the Livestock Environment Management Institute."
