A sports utility vehicle (SUV) carrying a mother and daughter collided with a garbage collection truck and a building, then overturned. The mother in her 70s, who was sitting in the passenger seat, died in the accident.

View original imageOn the 31st, the Gyeonggi Northern Fire and Disaster Headquarters reported that around 11:59 a.m. on the 30th, a small SUV driven by a woman identified as Ms. A (early 60s) collided with the rear of a stationary garbage collection truck on a one-lane road near Seonyu Market in Seonyuri, Munsan-eup, Paju City.
After hitting the garbage collection truck, the vehicle swayed briefly on the road and then collided with a nearby building, causing it to tip over onto its side. The vehicle overturned.
Fire authorities who arrived at the scene rescued Ms. A and her mother, Ms. B (late 70s), who were trapped inside the vehicle. Ms. B was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest but ultimately passed away. Ms. A sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment at the hospital.
