Asan City Hall Weightlifting Team's Jang Yeonhak: "Look Forward to Olympic Gold News"
Competing in Men's 102kg Weightlifting on the 10th of Next Month
Jang Yeonhak, a member of the Asan City Hall weightlifting team in Chungnam, is ready to lift the golden barbell at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Ranked 6th in the world by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), Jang Yeonhak qualified for this competition by finishing second in the men's 102kg category at the 2023 World Weightlifting Championships held in Saudi Arabia last year, lifting 182kg in the snatch, 217kg in the clean and jerk, and a total of 399kg.
The men's 102kg weightlifting event, in which Jang Yeonhak will compete, is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. on the 10th of next month (6:30 p.m. Korean time).
Asan City has launched a relay of SNS support to wish Jang Yeonhak success.
Jang Yeonhak said, "I will do my best to win a medal at this Olympics," and added, "I will lift to the end for the honor of Korea."
