3 Weeks Before Enlistment... 'Godlike Smashing' Im Jonghun & Shin Yubin Achieve Table Tennis Bronze Medal [Paris Olympics]
Im Jong-hoon (Korea Exchange) and Shin Yu-bin (Korean Air) achieved the remarkable feat of winning the bronze medal in the mixed doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The Im Jong-hoon-Shin Yu-bin pair (3rd place) defeated Hong Kong's Wong Chun-ting-Doo Hoi Kem pair (4th place) with a game score of 4-0 (11-5 11-7 11-7 14-12) in the mixed doubles bronze medal match held on the 30th at the South Paris Arena in France.
This is an achievement just two years after Shin Yu-bin and Im Jong-hoon began playing together.
It is the first time in 12 years since the silver medal in the men's team event at the 2012 London Olympics that Korea has won a medal in Olympic table tennis. Shin Yu-bin is the first Korean female athlete in 16 years to win an Olympic medal, marking the first time since the women's team took third place at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
On the 30th (local time), at the South Paris Arena 4 in Paris, France, the mixed doubles bronze medal match of the 2024 Paris Olympics table tennis event took place, where Korea's Lim Jong-hoon and Shin Yu-bin emerged victorious.
