Gangjin-gun Leads Public Officials' Work Innovation with 4th Industrial Technology
Practical Training for Public Officials on Using Generative AI in Work
Starting with Real-World Applications Before Future Environments
Gangjin County in Jeollanam-do recently announced on the 30th that it conducted a "Practical Training for Public Officials on Utilizing Generative AI in Work" to enable public officials to use generative AI such as Chat GPT in actual tasks and maximize the efficiency of county administration.
The training was held at the small theater of Gangjin County Art Hall and was led by Hwang Jun-won, CEO of Mirae Channel MyF, an external expert. The session covered various topics including types and characteristics of generative AI, practical use cases, copyright and ownership issues, helping public officials gain a better understanding. A total of 250 public officials attended, showing great interest in the changes in the work environment using tools like Chat GPT.
In particular, practical examples such as document creation using Chat GPT, image documentation, and video memorization were emphasized. It was highlighted that Chat GPT can not only assist in document writing but also greatly help automatically summarize or improve reports and official documents prepared by public officials.
On the 25th, practical training for public officials on the use of generative AI in work was held at the Small Theater of Gangjin-gun Art Hall.

Additionally, methods to directly create and edit images needed for reports or presentation materials using the image generation AI Midjourney were introduced, and a demonstration of producing a county promotional song using the music generation AI Suno attracted attention.
A public official who attended the training said, "This training greatly enhanced my understanding of generative AI, and it was very beneficial to gain practical knowledge that can be applied to actual work."
Gang Jin-won, the county governor, stated, "Improving work efficiency through generative AI is an essential task in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. I hope this training will serve as an opportunity for our public officials to acquire the latest technology and thereby improve the quality and speed of their work." He added, "We will continue to provide various educational programs so that public officials can keep learning and growing in step with the changes of the times."

Gangjin County has attracted attention for its swift administrative response by being the first nationwide to establish a Fourth Industrial Revolution Utilization Promotion Team and proactively preparing for the future environment. Two more training sessions are scheduled on the 31st, and various educational programs will be conducted to enable public officials to approach generative AI not just as a future environment issue but as a tool for public work utilization.
