Health consultations by medical professionals will be provided to Bando Construction and partner company employees working at 14 sites nationwide.
On-site workers will have their body temperature, blood pressure, and simple blood sugar levels measured and complete a heat-related illness self-diagnosis form to receive health assessments and management advice. Even workers without any special findings will receive education on how to cope with the increased risk of heat-related illnesses during summer, following the provided guidelines.
Bando Construction also held a ‘Food Truck Event’ to encourage employees working hard under the scorching heat and provide them with a place to rest from the heat. On-site workers were given cool treats such as shaved ice with red beans (Patbingsu), ice vests, and ice packs. Shade tents were installed to allow for rest, break times were extended, and efforts were made to activate the right to stop work to thoroughly prevent heat-related illnesses on site.
