National Actor Lee Sungmin from Bonghwa, Gyeongbuk Donates 5 Million Won to Hometown Love Fund
National actor Lee Sungmin, a native of Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongbuk, donated 5 million won to the Hometown Love Donation program during a talk concert held on the 28th, as part of the 26th Bonghwa Euneo Festival.
Born in Dochon-ri, Bonghwa-eup, Bonghwa-gun, and a graduate of Dochon Elementary School, Lee Sungmin has been actively participating in various works such as the dramas "Misaeng," "Reborn Rich," the films "Seoul Spring," "Miracle" (set in Bonghwa), and the recently released "Handsome Guys."

View original imageAfter being appointed as a promotional ambassador for Bonghwa-gun in March, he is expected to participate in promotional activities for Bonghwa-gun's festivals, tourism, and sports development until 2026.
The Hometown Love Donation program allows individuals to donate up to 5 million won annually to local governments other than their place of residence. Donors receive local specialty gifts (worth 30% of the donation), full tax deductions on donations up to 100,000 won, and a 16.5% deduction on amounts exceeding 100,000 won.
Park Hyunkook, Mayor of Bonghwa-gun, said, "We are grateful for actor Lee Sungmin's affection for his hometown and his support as the first celebrity donor. This will greatly help promote the Hometown Love Donation program in Bonghwa-gun," and added, "The valuable donations for the development of our hometown will be used to improve the region and the welfare of our residents."
