GreenPlus Signs Contract for Youth Smart Farm... Contributing to the Spread of Young Farmers
GreenPlus, a smart farm specialist company, announced on the 29th that it has signed a contract worth approximately 3.6 billion KRW for the construction of a youth smart farm in Jeollabuk-do.
According to this contract, a smart farm capable of cultivating fully ripened tomatoes on a 12,540㎡ (3,800 pyeong) site will be built in Gwansang-ri, Cheongha-myeon, Gimje-si, Jeollabuk-do. This contract is the second one signed this month following the previous smart farm contract in Gyeongsangnam-do.
GreenPlus has been dedicated to fostering young farmers for over five years. It holds the largest domestic smart farm for youth and has a track record of construction in Innovation Valley. A smart farm refers to a farm that integrates existing agricultural technology with ICT (big data, artificial intelligence, IoT) and robotic automation technology to grow crops with high efficiency.
Recently, smart farms have emerged as a new growth area in the food industry to address issues in agriculture such as unstable agricultural product supply due to climate change, rising raw material costs, and labor shortages.
