Hana Financial Group announced on the 28th that over 100 participants, including the group’s employees and university student ambassadors of the ‘18th Smart Ambassadors,’ took part in volunteer activities to support local small business owners on the 26th.
Hana Financial regularly conducts volunteer activities for small business owners near its Myeongdong headquarters. This volunteer event was made more meaningful as university student ambassadors, representing the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) and actively engaged in various internal and external group activities, participated together.
The volunteer activities included delivering customized happiness boxes for small business owners and conducting environmental cleanup in the nearby area through ‘plogging,’ an eco-friendly activity combining jogging and picking up litter. The Smart Ambassadors and employees who participated personally assembled happiness boxes containing items necessary for business operations and wrote encouraging messages. The Smart Ambassadors delivered the happiness boxes and messages of support directly to local small business owners on behalf of the group.
The happiness boxes delivered this time were prepared based on the opinions of representatives from the Myeongdong Merchants Association, with three types of customized boxes tailored to different business sectors reflecting actual needs at their workplaces. All boxes included common items such as ▲hand sanitizers and refill supplies ▲insect repellents, fabric deodorizers, and cleaning agents ▲coffee mix and green tea bags. For food service businesses, the boxes contained ▲disinfectants, rubber gloves, and sanitary gloves ▲dishwashing detergent and kitchen towels. For service businesses, the boxes included ▲wet wipes, facial tissues, and paper cups.
The volunteer activities concluded with environmental cleanup around the business areas through ‘plogging,’ an easy-to-practice daily activity.

A Smart Ambassador who participated in the volunteer work said, “I only vaguely understood the difficulties faced by small business owners, but meeting them in person, delivering our sincere support, and talking with them made me realize and learn a lot. I want to continue to take more interest and engage in activities that empower small business owners.”
