Timon Employees Tearfully Appeal to Victims: "CEO Not Answering Calls, Doing Our Best Efforts"
Standoff in front of Sinsa-dong building from the morning of the 27th
Both employees and victims in tears, ambulance transport also occurs
As the refund delay crisis at TMON and WEMAKEPRICE spreads, a standoff continued on the morning of the 27th between TMON employees and customers seeking refunds at the TMON office building in Gangnam.
Kwon Dowan, Head of TMON Operations Division, along with 5 to 6 employees, tearfully pleaded in front of customers demanding on-site refunds at the building in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu around 8 a.m., saying, "The CEO is not answering calls, what more can we do?"
Head Kwon explained, "We intended to use about 2.8 to 2.9 billion KRW from the company's reserves for refunds, but the CEO tied it up for employee wages and other expenses," adding, "It seems that refunds have only been paid to about 260 people, totaling around 800 to 900 million KRW."
Head Kwon and the employees choked up, saying, "Please do not belittle the best efforts we are making. We rushed here out of love for the company, but all we hear from you is insults."
More than 200 victims who stayed up all night waiting for refunds also shed tears together, saying, "Then what are we supposed to do?" and "This (on-site refund) is our last hope."
One TMON employee who was about to leave complained of health problems around 9:10 a.m. at the outdoor smoking area on the first floor of the building and was transported on a stretcher by the 119 emergency team. The employee was conscious.
