Director Jeong Isaac of 'Minari' Visits Korea to Promote 'Twisters'
Box Office Success in the US Recovers Production Costs Within One Week
Director Lee Isaac Chung of the movie "Twisters," which is currently a box office hit in the United States, will meet Korean audiences. Distributor Warner Bros. Korea announced on the 26th that lead actress Daisy Edgar-Jones and producer Ashley J. Sandberg will visit Korea on the 7th of next month for promotional activities.
Director Chung is a Korean-American. He gained significant attention with the film "Minari," which depicts the story of a Korean family who immigrated to the United States. He won the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film for this movie. Actress Youn Yuh-jung, who played Soon-ja, won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
The sequel "Twisters," his next work, follows the 1996 globally successful disaster film "Twister." It tells the story of storm chasers confronting powerful tornadoes on the Oklahoma plains.

On its opening day in the U.S. on the 19th (local time), it generated $32.2 million (approximately 44.8 billion KRW) in ticket sales, creating a box office sensation. As of the 25th, the worldwide revenue reached $156.57 million (approximately 217 billion KRW), recouping its production cost ($155 million) within just one week of release.
