Suwon City to Hold Human Rights Art Contest... Until September 22
The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province is holding a human rights artwork contest until September 22 to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (December 10) this year.
The contest themes are ▲ Freedom, equality, and justice for all based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights ▲ Respect, protection, human rights awareness, and human rights culture experienced in daily life ▲ A world where everyone is dignified beyond hatred and discrimination. Participants can submit photos, poems, or posters.
Anyone interested in human rights, regardless of region or age, can apply individually or as a group.
Applicants can visit the Suwon city website (www.suwon.go.kr), search for ‘Suwon Human Rights Artwork Contest’ in the search bar, download and fill out the application form, and submit it along with their work via email (sunlove79@korea.kr).
Suwon city will form a judging panel composed of experts in each field to select a total of 54 works, including grand prize, excellence award, and encouragement award winners.
The winning works will be exhibited at the Universal Declaration of Human Rights anniversary exhibition and will be made into commemorative items such as calendars for distribution.

A Suwon city official stated, "We hope the human rights artwork contest will spread social awareness of the importance of human rights and the need for human rights education," adding, "We will hold various cultural events using the winning works to promote ‘Human Rights City Suwon’ and create a learning space to enhance human rights sensitivity."
