First, an explanation of Yangsan City’s education-related projects was provided to help parents better understand local education. Following this, a conversation with parents was held, presided over by Mayor Na Dongyeon, giving parents an opportunity to actively participate as key stakeholders in Yangsan’s education. The open dialogue session with parents continued for over 40 minutes beyond the scheduled time, filled with passionate suggestions from parents and positive responses from Mayor Na Dongyeon.
Parents requested improvements to the environment around schools and city support for upgrading school facilities. These suggestions will serve as important reference materials for the future formulation of Yangsan City’s education policies.
Lee Sujin, president of the Yangsan Parents’ Association, who attended the event, expressed gratitude for providing a venue for communication with parents, stating, “It was a meaningful time to share parents’ concerns and suggestions with the mayor.”
Mayor Na Dongyeon said, “Hearing parents’ vivid opinions is a great help in establishing education policies,” and added, “We will continue to create opportunities for communication and actively gather and reflect opinions from the educational field.”
