View original imageChungnam Buyeo-gun and Geumsan-gun, which suffered significant damage from heavy rainfall, have been additionally designated as special disaster zones.
On the 25th, the government additionally declared five cities and counties and ten towns and districts that were affected by the heavy rain as special disaster zones.
In Chungnam, Geumsan-gun, Buyeo-gun, and Jusan-myeon and Misan-myeon in Boryeong-si were included.
Including Nonsan-si and Seocheon-gun, which were declared special disaster zones on the 15th, a total of four cities and counties and two towns and districts in Chungnam have now been designated as special disaster zones.
Once an area is designated as a special disaster zone, affected residents receive disaster relief funds and benefits such as reductions in water and sewage, health insurance, electricity, telecommunications, and city gas fees.
It is estimated that more than 100 billion won in damages occurred in Chungnam due to the heavy rainfall from the 8th to the 10th.
