Osan-si Selects Outstanding Public Officials for Proactive Administration in the First Half of the Year
Secured 4.8 Billion KRW in National Funding and 5 Projects for Intelligent Video Surveillance Improvement
Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it has selected five 'Outstanding Public Officials for Proactive Administration in the First Half of 2024' who achieved results through active work promotion.
The city received a total of 18 cases of proactive administration, and through preliminary screening reflecting opinions from citizens and employees, as well as the final review by the Proactive Administration Committee, selected 1 grand prize, 1 excellence award, 1 encouragement award, and 2 effort awards.
The grand prize for outstanding proactive administration was awarded to Kim Si-on, an officer of the Smart Traffic Safety Division. Officer Kim secured 4.8 billion KRW in national funding by applying for a Ministry of Science and ICT public project with a task to develop autonomous improvement technology for intelligent video surveillance performance in collaboration with private institutions.
In addition, the following were selected as outstanding cases: ▲ Activation of nighttime operation of private taxis through public-private cooperation (Excellence Award - Kim Jung-gu, officer of the Traffic Policy Division) ▲ Establishment of a permanent testing center for national technical qualifications (Encouragement Award - Jeong Chan-wook, officer of the Regional Economy Division) ▲ Provision of daily water usage, leakage prevention, and establishment of a website to check abnormal signs for citizen safety (Effort Award - Oh Young-ae, officer of the Waterworks Division) ▲ Reduction of single-use products in public institutions (Effort Award - Go Ah-ra, officer of the Cleaning Resources Division).

The city plans to provide incentives such as commendations, personnel evaluation points, and reward leave to the selected outstanding public officials. Osan Mayor Lee Kwon-jae stated, "We will continue to spread a proactive and dynamic work attitude within the organization to provide administrative services that citizens can genuinely feel."
