Harris Heads to Milwaukee for Trump’s Election Kickoff Rally: "Unite the Party for November Victory"
"Trump to Halt Abortion Ban Order"
Prosecutor vs. Criminal Dynamic Highlighted... "Well Aware of Trump Type"
Kamala Harris, the Vice President who is widely expected to be the Democratic presidential nominee in the United States, chose Milwaukee, the site of the Republican National Convention, as her first campaign stop and intensified her attacks on former President Donald Trump. With a 'Trump vs. Harris' showdown all but confirmed for the November election, she sharpened her stance on the abortion issue and positioned Trump as essentially a criminal, heightening the confrontation.
On the 23rd (local time), Vice President Harris spoke in Milwaukee, the largest city in the battleground state of Wisconsin, saying, "I heard this morning that I have secured enough delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination," and pledged, "Over the coming weeks, I vow to unite our party and prepare to win the November election."
She described this election as "a choice between autonomy and chaos," adding, "We believe in a future where everyone has the opportunity not just to get by, but to get ahead."
She also continued her offensive against former President Trump, who she will face in the election just over three months away.
Vice President Harris stated, "We will stop Trump's extreme abortion ban," emphasizing, "Women have the right to make decisions about their own bodies, and the government should not dictate what they must do." She further stressed, "If Congress passes legislation to restore reproductive freedom (including abortion rights), I will sign that law as President of the United States."
Highlighting her career as a prosecutor, she defined the contest with Trump as a "prosecutor versus criminal" battle, intensifying her criticism. Earlier, Trump was found guilty on 34 counts related to hush money payments for a sexual misconduct scandal by a New York court at the end of May.
Vice President Harris said, "In that (prosecutor) role, I dealt with all kinds of criminals," listing "predators who abuse women, fraudsters who deceive consumers, and con artists who break rules for profit." She emphasized, "So when I say I know the type that Donald Trump is, please listen."

Milwaukee, which Vice President Harris effectively chose as her first campaign location, was also where former President Trump held his presidential campaign kickoff. The Republican Party held its convention in Milwaukee from the 15th to the 18th, where Trump was officially nominated and delivered his acceptance speech on the 18th. Analysts see great symbolic significance in Harris launching her first campaign in the same place where Trump held his kickoff, underscoring her determination to confront him. It also reflects the importance placed on Wisconsin, a battleground state, as a key battleground in the presidential election.
