Hwaseong City Environmental Foundation Operates Environmental Education Program for Seniors
10 Local Senior Centers in the District
The Hwaseong City Environmental Foundation in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 22nd that it will operate the 'Silver Generation Environmental Education Program' at 10 senior centers in the area until September.
This program has been running since last year to help seniors learn about the climate crisis and carbon neutrality easily and enjoyably through various experiential activities. The program was also selected as an 'Excellent Environmental Education Program' by the Ministry of Environment last year.
The program is conducted by accepting prior applications from facilities used by seniors aged 65 and older in Hwaseong City. It consists of theoretical lectures and practical activities based on five environmental themes such as forests and tidal flats, teaching ways to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment in daily life.
