Police Summon Kim Taek-woo, Former Emergency Committee Chairman of the Medical Association, for the Fourth Time... "Fabricated Investigation"
Kim Taek-woo, former emergency response committee chairman of the Korea Medical Association (KMA), who is suspected of inciting collective action by residents in protest against the increase in medical school admissions, was summoned for the fourth time by the police.
On the afternoon of the 20th, while appearing at the Public Crime Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, he said, "It has been revealed as a fact that neither the emergency response committee nor the KMA practically ordered or coerced the residents to resign," adding, "Nevertheless, I think an excessive, fabricated investigation is being conducted to assign responsibility."
He also added, "Only by reconsidering the current policy from the beginning will the residents return to the field."
The police have been investigating current and former KMA executives on charges including violation of the Medical Service Act, obstruction of business under the Criminal Act, and instigation or aiding and abetting.
