450 BNK Busan Bank Employees Participate in Environmental Volunteer Activities

BNK Busan Bank (President Bang Seongbin) saw all 16 district volunteer groups in the Busan area take to the streets at once on the 20th.

Busan Bank announced that on this day, about 450 members of its regional volunteer groups, composed of Busan Bank employees, carried out volunteer activities focused on the environment.

The regional volunteer groups participating in the activities conducted environmental clean-up efforts at 13 locations, including Nokum Square at Busan City Hall in Yeonje-gu, Daecheoncheon in Hwamyeong-dong, and Sajik Sports Complex in Dongnae-gu. The volunteer group stated that they used eco-friendly bags that naturally decompose by microorganisms during the activities.

Additionally, in Dong-gu and Yeongdo-gu, they upcycled old socks to make coasters and pot holders. In Haeundae-gu, they made children's safety umbrellas and gifted them to children from vulnerable groups in the community.

Kang Seokrae, Head of the Management Strategy Division at Busan Bank, said, "We hope that this volunteer activity will contribute, even in a small way, to solving environmental issues in the local community," and added, "The Busan Bank regional volunteer group will take the lead in practicing ESG management."

Since the establishment of the regional volunteer group, Busan Bank has continued to discover and implement social contribution activities needed by the local community, such as environmental clean-up and sandbag making for flood prevention, as well as removing invasive species and planting native species in the Nakdong River basin.
