Blood Transfusion by Medical Staff at Suncheonhyang University Cheonan Hospital Regional Emergency Medical Center
Support of Emergency Medicine Faculty from Hospitals under Soonchunhyang University Medical Center
Suncheonhyang University Cheonan Hospital, which had been operating its Regional Emergency Medical Center on a reduced scale due to a shortage of medical staff, has avoided the worst-case scenario of a collapse in the local emergency medical system by receiving support from other hospitals under Suncheonhyang University Medical Center.
According to the hospital on the 19th, since the 16th, four emergency medicine specialists have submitted their resignations, resulting in the Regional Emergency Medical Center being operated on a limited basis.
To minimize gaps in medical care, the hospital has assigned two professors each from the surgical and internal medicine departments to take shifts. Additionally, Suncheonhyang University Medical Center has decided to dispatch one emergency medicine professor each from its affiliated hospitals in Seoul, Bucheon, and Gumi.
Hospital Director Park Hyungkuk stated, "We promise to revitalize the Regional Emergency Medical Center, prioritize the safety of local residents, and ensure there will be no future closures by maintaining normal operations at the center."
