View original imageGyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon stated that he is prioritizing the safety of residents amid the heavy rain and has raised the emergency level to stage 3.
On the 18th, Governor Kim posted on his social media, "Due to the overnight heavy rain, Gyeonggi Province has elevated the emergency level to stage 3," adding, "In particular, with heavy rainfall concentrated in northern Gyeonggi, we inspected river conditions around Paju, Yeoncheon, as well as Samteo Farm in Dongducheon and Donggwanggyo."
He continued, "We also checked water levels at Osan Tapdong Bridge, Gwolli Stream, under Osan Bridge, Pocheon Jangam Bridge, and Yeoncheon Biryong Bridge," noting, "Fortunately, there have been no casualties so far. Although most of the rain clouds are expected to pass and the situation to calm down this afternoon, continuous monitoring is necessary in downstream river areas and zones where the ground has weakened due to ongoing rainfall."
