Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Designates 1,496 Victims of Jeonse Fraud in June
Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Reviews a Total of 2,132 Cases
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 17th that it held three full meetings of the Jeonse Fraud Victim Support Committee over the past month, reviewing a total of 2,132 cases and finally approving 1,496 cases as Jeonse fraud victims, among others.
212 cases were excluded from eligibility as the full deposit refund was possible through guarantee insurance and priority repayment, and 312 cases were rejected due to failure to meet the requirements. There were 112 cases of appeal dismissal.
Among the submitted agenda items (2,132 cases), there were a total of 342 appeals, of which 230 cases were re-decided as Jeonse fraud victims and others after additional verification of eligibility.
So far, the committee has finally approved a total of 19,621 cases (cumulative) as Jeonse fraud victims, and a total of 857 cases (cumulative) for urgent suspension of light and public auctions. A total of 13,221 cases (cumulative) of support including housing, finance, and legal procedures are being provided to the decided victims, among others.
Tenants who have received a notice of non-recognition or have been determined as Jeonse fraud victims may file an appeal, and even if the appeal is dismissed, they can seek relief through reapplication in case of future changes in circumstances.

Tenants experiencing difficulties due to Jeonse fraud can apply for victim determination at the city or provincial office with jurisdiction over their residence, and those determined as victims through the committee’s resolution can receive detailed guidance on support measures through the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) Jeonse Damage Support Center and its branches.
