Chungnam Office of Education Provides Over 20 Million Won in Aid to Students Affected by Heavy Rain
Nonghyup Chungnam Headquarters and 10 Million Won Worth of Daily Necessities Also Provided
The Chungnam Office of Education announced on the 17th that it has provided emergency welfare support funds totaling approximately 20 million won to students affected by the heavy rainfall.
Due to the torrential rains that began on the 7th, 52 students from 39 households in Nonsan, Gyeryong, Geumsan, and Seocheon in Chungnam suffered damages.
The Office of Education provided 22.3 million won in emergency welfare support funds and, in cooperation with the Chungnam branch of Nonghyup, supplied emergency livelihood goods worth about 10 million won. In addition, they plan to visit the homes of affected students to assess the situation and offer psychological counseling and other support.
Superintendent Kim Jicheol expressed his condolences, saying, "I extend my sympathies to the students and families who have fallen into despair due to flood damage," and added, "The entire educational community will work together so that students can return to their studies and daily lives as soon as possible."
