View original imageGyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation (GH) is holding an idea contest for revitalizing old downtown areas suitable for the era of low birth rates, aging population, and urban hollowing by utilizing vacant houses in the city center.
Eligibility for participation includes university and graduate students, as well as those who are on leave or have graduated within the last three years. Entries can be submitted individually or as a team (up to 2 people). The total prize money is 15 million KRW, with 3 million KRW for one grand prize winner, 2 million KRW for one gold prize winner, 1 million KRW each for two silver prize winners, 500,000 KRW each for four bronze prize winners, and 300,000 KRW each for twenty honorable mentions.
Applications and submissions are accepted from the 22nd of this month until September 20th through the official contest email of the Korean Urban Administration Association (2024cityrevival@gmail.com). The Gyeonggi Province Vacant House Utilization Advisory Committee and others will participate in the judging, and the winners will be announced in October.
GH plans to use the results of this contest to establish development concepts and direction models suitable for old downtown areas in Gyeonggi Province.
