'Daejeon Connection' Wins Grand Prize at Daejeon City Public Design Contest

View original imageAt the 16th Daejeon City Public Design Competition, "Connecting Daejeon" by Seo Geumhee and Lee Jiyeon from Kongju National University was selected as the grand prize winner.
Daejeon City held the competition's judging committee and selected 60 winning entries, including the grand prize. The competition, held under the theme "Sustainable Public Design, Embracing the Story of Daejeon," attracted 534 participants including university students and the general public.
The grand prize-winning work, "Connecting Daejeon," received high praise for proposing signature icons representing advanced technology-related tourist attractions (Hanbit Tower, Daejeon Observatory, National Science Museum, Daejeon EXPO Energy Hall) and culture-related tourist spots (Dongchundang, Hanbat Arboretum, Uam Historic Park, Gapcheon). The winning works will be actively utilized in related projects.
The gold prize went to "Journey Towards Dreams_Ggumkka" submitted by Kim Yumin from KYK Architects, and "Circuits of Serenity" submitted by Kang Il and Kim Jiwoo from Hoseo University.
The city will hold an award ceremony for the outstanding works on August 20 at the lobby on the 2nd floor of Daejeon City Hall, and the winning entries will be exhibited from August 20 to 26.
