BTS Jin Carries Paris Olympic Torch at Louvre on Revolution Day
Departure for France on the 11th
Jin, the eldest member of the group BTS, will serve as a torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics on the 14th (local time).
The Organizing Committee of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games has selected Jin as the first torchbearer for the Louvre section of the torch relay in Paris on the 14th. Jin will run his segment starting around 8:30 PM from the pyramid of the Louvre Museum.
Although news of Jin being chosen as a torchbearer was announced earlier this month, the exact location and schedule of the relay were revealed this time. The torch will arrive in Paris on the 14th, which coincides with Bastille Day, the French National Day.
Jin’s participation in the torch relay is believed to be influenced by the overwhelming global recognition of BTS as a group loved worldwide, along with their message emphasizing love and peace over the past decade.
Jin departed for France through Incheon International Airport on the 11th to take part in the torch relay.
The 2024 Paris Olympic torch was lit on April 16 at the Hera Temple in Olympia, Greece, the birthplace of the ancient Olympics. It arrived in Marseille, France, on May 8, and the torch relay across mainland France has been ongoing for over two months. The torch will pass through various locations in Paris until the 15th, then return to the provinces before coming back to Paris on the 26th for the opening ceremony.
