At the competition held at the Central Library, the team of students Choi Hyunseok, Cho Minho, Lee Donghyun, Shin Youngseo, Ahn Sanghyeok, Baek Jonghyun, Kim Donghwan, and Hong Dongseok from the Mechanical Systems Engineering major (supervised by Professor Seo Jin-ho) won the Grand Prize with their project, "Non-powered Water Wheel Auxiliary Cooling Device for Lowering Engine Room Temperature."
This project received high praise for its eco-friendly design, which utilizes the flow of fluid within the engine room's piping to rotate a water wheel and circulate air, thereby lowering the temperature around the engine. This helps protect the health of engineers and improves work efficiency.
The Excellence Award went to two teams: the Mechanical Design Engineering team of Song Chanhyuk, Geum Boseong, Ha Changsu, Ha Jaeyoung, Seo Jangwon, Jeong Jaewon, Seo Jangwon, Park Youngmin, Heo Min, and Bae Junsu (supervised by Professor Jeong Youngseok) for their project "Fire Evacuation System for Shipyards and Industrial Sites Utilizing Air Membranes," and the Mechanical Systems Engineering team of Kim Minkwon, Kim Yunho, Park Seongyeong, Jo Yeonji, Lee Howon, Lee Hyunsoo, Han Seokhoon, and Song Gijun (supervised by Professor Jang Jiseong) for "Non-powered Wearable Suit for Shipyard Workers."
The Merit Award was given to the Mechanical Engineering team of Kim Gukdong, Kim Junghoon, Hong Seonghyeon, and Choi Chanjong, as well as the Information and Communication Engineering team of Jeong Changhyeon, Lee Sanghee, Kim Jihoon, and Kim Yerim. The Encouragement Award went to the Mechanical Engineering team of Lee Hocheol, Oh Janghyeon, Kim Ingyu, Kim Hongjik, and Park Jaehong, and the team of Kim Hongseon, Kim Minsu, An Jugyeong, and Lee Jaehun.
The Pukyong National University LINC 3.0 Project Group plans to strengthen the industry-academic cooperation network through this competition and provide benefits to the award-winning students, such as field trips, internships, and hands-on training opportunities at Samsung Heavy Industries.
