This agreement was established to build a job support model for self-reliance preparation youth by combining the efforts of Samsung, which is implementing Samsung Hope Didimdol 2.0, and local companies, and to provide practical economic independence. Self-reliance preparation youth are young people who, after receiving protection in child welfare facilities or foster care, must stand on their own after the protection ends at age 18.
Samsung, in connection with Samsung Hope Didimdol 2.0, will provide on-site practical job training for self-reliance preparation youth and strengthen their employment capabilities through job camps and consulting. Accommodation and transportation will be provided free of charge during the training period.
The Daejeon Sejong Chungnam Employers Federation will connect self-reliance preparation youth who have completed job training with member companies and provide practical employment opportunities by holding recruitment meetings involving both companies and youth.
Park Seunghee, President in charge of CR at Samsung Electronics, stated, "We will do our utmost to help self-reliance preparation youth discover and develop their potential and grow even further, using Hope Didimdol as a stepping stone."
Mayor Lee Jangwoo of Daejeon emphasized, "We will not only support the housing and financial needs of Daejeon's self-reliance preparation youth, but also strive to create quality jobs so they can truly become independent."
