Noh Beomsoo (26), a member of the Uljugun Office Haetteumi Ssireum Team, was crowned Geumgang Jangsa at the "Withus Pharmaceutical 2024 Folk Ssireum Boeun Jangsa Ssireum Competition" held at the Boeun National Sports Center in Boeun-gun, Chungbuk on the 11th.
In the Geumgang Jangsa (under 90kg) final, which was held in a best-of-five format, Noh Beomsoo defeated Kim Taeha (Suwon Special City Hall) 3-0, lifting his 21st career Hwangso Trophy (2 Geumgang Jangsa titles and 19 Taebaek Jangsa titles).

View original imageHaving already set a record with 19 Taebaek Jangsa titles, Noh Beomsoo moved up to the Geumgang weight class for this tournament, making his second attempt at the Geumgang Jangsa title in four years since the 2020 Ansan competition.
In the round of 16, Noh Beomsoo faced Lee Junghoon (Yeongwol County Office) and advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 victory. He continued his momentum by defeating Choi Youngwon (Jeungpyeong County Office) 2-1 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, he overcame Kim Gisoo (Suwon Special City Hall) 2-1 to reach the final.
In the final, Noh Beomsoo faced Kim Taeha (Suwon Special City Hall) for the first time in this tournament.
In the first round, Noh Beomsoo took the lead by successfully executing a deotgeori technique. In the second round, he countered an incoming batdari attack with a push, seizing the advantage. In the third round, he toppled his opponent with a lift-and-push technique, securing a final score of 3-0.
Noh Beomsoo of the Uljugun Office Haetteumi Ssireum Team, who has earned the nickname "Notttojang" (Noh Beomsoo wins again), has demonstrated exceptional skill, winning four titles last season and two so far this year.
With this victory, Noh Beomsoo made a successful return to the Geumgang weight class after four years, tying the record for the most Jangsa titles among active folk ssireum wrestlers with his 21st career win.
