NATO Recognizes South Korea's Military Aircraft Safety Certification Capability as Asia's First
Expectations for Strengthening Defense Industry Cooperation between Korea and NATO
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has recognized South Korea's military aircraft safety certification capability for the first time among Asian countries.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced on the 12th that it held a signing ceremony for the military aircraft 'airworthiness certification recognition' with NATO on the 9th (local time) in Washington DC, USA. Administrator Seok Jong-geon and NATO Airworthiness Committee Chairman Giorgio Choni attended.

Earlier, President Yoon Suk-yeol met with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on the 11th (local time) in Washington DC during the NATO summit and said, "I am pleased to receive certification of our aircraft's airworthiness capability from NATO to ensure mutual military interoperability."
