President Yoon Suk-yeol instructed on the 12th to consider declaring special disaster zones for areas severely affected by heavy rain.
The Blue House stated that President Yoon gave this instruction on his way back to Korea after completing his visit to the United States to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit.
President Yoon urged thorough preparedness measures in advance, as additional heavy rain is expected from next week.
