This year, the district will install bottled water refrigerators starting from the 13th at 13 outdoor heat relief shelters such as parks and riversides. Locations include Seongbukcheon (Barammadang), Seongbukcheon (Fountain Square), Seongbuk Neighborhood Park Sky Plaza, Jeongneungcheon (Security Post), Meeting Place on the Bukhansan Footpath, Entrance of Gaewoonsan Park (Entrance of Seongbuk-gu Council), Lower Jeongneungcheon (Jongam-dong Village Park), Wolgok Station Traffic Island, Wolgok No.1 Lawn Field, Cheongnyang Neighborhood Park (Entrance), Entrance of Uicheon (Jangwi Silver Welfare Center), Jungnangcheon Multipurpose Stand, and Seokgwan-dong (Walking Trail in front of Seokgye Elementary School).
The bottled water is available to anyone in Seongbuk-gu, especially vulnerable groups such as elderly people exhausted by the heat. All bottled water is supplied without labels to reduce plastic waste, and a PET bottle unmanned collection machine (Barammadang) is installed near the refrigerators to increase recycling rates, reflecting environmental considerations.
