View original imageContinuous heavy rain in Chungnam has also caused damage to cultural heritage sites throughout the region.
According to the Chungnam provincial government on the 12th, an average of 286.3mm of rain fell between the 7th and 10th, resulting in damage to 16 cultural heritage sites, including partial loss or collapse.
By region, Buyeo-gun reported the most cases with seven, followed by Gongju-si with two, Nonsan-si with two, and one each in Taean, Seosan, Geumsan, Boryeong, and Seocheon.
In Buyeo, landslides occurred as parts of Naseong, Neungeongol, Garimseong, Daejosa, Odeoksa, Honghakdang, and Imcheonhyanggyo collapsed.
In Gongju, part of the Yeongeunsa Manharu trail in Gongsanseong was washed away, and the section of the wall beneath Jungakdan in Gyeryong-si collapsed.
In Nonsan, the roof of an annex building of the Namyang Jeon clan's family documents and the roof tiles of Geumgok Seowon partially collapsed.
In Taean, about 3.5 meters of the Anheungjinseong fortress wall collapsed, while in Seosan, the wall inside the Gyeongju Kim clan's old house fell down.
Additionally, landslides occurred at the Ichidaecheopji shrine in Geumsan, the Boryeong fortress, and Cheongdeoksa in Seocheon.
The province has restricted access near the cultural heritage sites and has completed some temporary measures.
