Genesis "High-Performance GV60 Launch Next Year"... Concept Car Speeds at UK Goodwood
On the 11th, Driving Demonstration at the Goodwood Festival in the UK
Genesis to Launch 'GV60 Magma' in Korea in 2025
The Genesis high-performance GV60 Magma concept car, scheduled for release next year, showcased impressive driving capabilities at the Goodwood Festival in the UK. Genesis emphasized its expansion into the high-performance segment and also unveiled the three core attributes of the 'Genesis Magma,' represented by driving sensation, elegant design, and sensory experience.
On the 11th (local time), Genesis demonstrated the driving performance of concept cars including the GV60 Magma at the Goodwood Festival of Speed held in West Sussex, UK. Especially in the highlight 'Hillclimb' course of the event, four Genesis vehicles ? ▲GV60 Magma Concept ▲G80 Electrified Magma Concept ▲GV80 Coupe Concept ▲G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife ? successfully completed the course. The driving demonstrations of the GV60 Magma Concept and G80 Electrified Magma Concept were world premieres.
These vehicles will complete the Hillclimb course a total of 13 times from the opening day of the Goodwood Festival to its closing day on the 14th. Genesis has participated annually in the Goodwood Festival since 2021 and has completed this course with various models such as the G70 Shooting Brake. Generally, since production vehicles tend to have improved driving performance compared to concept cars, the completion of the Hillclimb by these concept cars raises expectations for future production Genesis high-performance vehicles.

Additionally, Genesis revealed its development direction for high-performance vehicles for the first time at this event. Following the announcement of the GV60 Magma Concept in New York last March, declaring its entry into the high-performance segment, Genesis presented a more concrete plan. Genesis emphasized that the ultimate goal of developing high-performance vehicles is the 'joy of driving' that comes from 'relaxation' and 'confidence,' and disclosed three core attributes to realize this.
The three core attributes of Genesis Magma are ▲Captivating Control: a driving sensation that allows the vehicle to move as desired under any driving condition through sufficient power and precise vehicle dynamics control ▲Unspoken Dominance: design that highlights the essence of dynamism with a wide and low body while emphasizing Genesis’s unique elegance ▲Sharpened Immersion: an interface and sensory experiences that deliver essential information concisely to immerse the driver in the driving experience through multiple senses.
The Magma vehicles are developed focusing on elements that drivers can predict and respond to, such as acceleration, deceleration, and cornering performance. To this end, Genesis plans to offer various components specialized for Magma, including standard wide tires, dedicated chassis, and drive shafts. Furthermore, the application of dedicated chassis and suspension ensures stable behavior and interior quietness even under harsh driving conditions. Genesis aims to achieve the highest level of output and vehicle dynamics control performance in its class through the Magma vehicles.
