'Childbirth Incentive of 100 Million' Buyeong Receives Presidential Citation
Ministry of Health and Welfare Hosts 'Population Day Commemoration Event'
Booyoung Group, which provides a childbirth incentive of 100 million won per child to employees who give birth, received a presidential citation on the 11th for its efforts to address the low birthrate issue.
Lee Hee-beom, Chairman of Booyoung Group, received the presidential citation from Cho Kyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, at the ‘13th Population Day Commemoration Event’ hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare held at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul on the same day.

View original imageChairman Lee said, “I am grateful to receive such a great award,” and added, “As per the intention of Lee Joong-geun, Chairman of Booyoung Group, who decided to provide childbirth incentives to solve the low birthrate problem, I hope Booyoung Group will serve as a catalyst and that the population decline issue will be promptly resolved through voluntary participation of companies.” Earlier this year, Booyoung Group paid a total of 7 billion won in childbirth incentives, 100 million won per child, to 70 children born to 66 employees.
Booyoung explained, “The childbirth incentive started by Booyoung Group has spread to other companies, generating social interest and being recognized as a clue for forming public consensus and preparing government measures.”
