Preemptive Response to Heavy Rain... Safety Inspection at Construction Sites
Continued Efforts to Prevent Construction Accidents and Manage Site Quality

Pohang City conducted safety inspections at large construction sites to prepare for summer flood and wind damage.
View original imageThe city decided to carry out this safety inspection as insufficient safety management at construction sites often leads to not only internal site damage but also damage to surrounding areas during heavy rainfall, causing storm and flood damage to spread nationwide.
In particular, as the rainy season lengthens in summer, there are cases where concrete is poured during rainfall, which can lower the overall quality of buildings. To prevent summer storm and flood damage, the city has begun inspecting safety management and quality control at large construction sites in the region.
During the on-site inspection, the following were thoroughly checked: ▲ proper operation of drainage facilities and equipment ▲ securing of flood control materials such as pumps and sandbags ▲ maintenance of major risk facilities such as excavation sites, retaining walls, electrical facilities, and temporary structures ▲ operation of emergency standby teams and establishment of emergency contact networks ▲ securing of evacuation routes and safe zones.
Deputy Mayor Jang Sangkil stated, "We will actively guide and supervise to ensure thorough on-site safety management during the summer, when storm and flood damage frequently occurs," and added, "We will continue to make efforts to prevent construction site accidents and to manage construction quality."
