Gyeongnam Regional Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups Selects Five Companies in Gyeongnam for Autonomous Factory Program
Up to 600 million KRW support per company for up to 2 years
The Gyeongnam Regional Office of SMEs and Startups announced on the 11th that five companies in the Gyeongnam area have been selected for the 'Autonomous Factory Construction Support Project,' which supports manufacturing innovation for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The 'Autonomous Factory Construction Support Project' is a leading initiative in autonomous manufacturing that standardizes data generated within factories and builds AI and digital twins based on standardized data to minimize operator intervention.
After requirements review, document evaluation, and on-site assessment, five companies in the Gyeongnam area?Korens, Daehan Autotech, Samcheon Industry, CTNS, and Hantech?were selected and will receive up to 600 million KRW in support over a maximum of two years.
The selected companies will standardize data, which forms the basis for AI learning and digital twin construction, according to international standards (AAS, IEC 63278-1). This will enable seamless connection between on-site processes and equipment and digital twins in virtual space, allowing not only real-time monitoring and control of the production process but also system construction for predictive simulations (virtual experiments).
Commissioner Son Hankook stated, "I hope that the companies selected for the Autonomous Factory Construction Support Project will become successful leading models for manufacturing innovation among small and medium-sized enterprises."
