Yangsan City Holds Evaluation Meeting for This Year's Yangsan Woongsang Hoeyajae Festival
Review of Achievements and Areas for Improvement... Exploring Directions for Next Year's Festival Development
The Yangsan City Ungsang Branch Office announced that the ‘2024 Yangsan Ungsang Hoeyajae Evaluation Meeting’ was held on the 10th in the branch office’s multipurpose hall, with around 40 members of the Yangsan Ungsang Hoeyajae Promotion Committee in attendance.
This year’s Hoeyajae Festival, which attracted approximately 48,000 visitors, was held from May 25 to 26 at the Ungsang Sports Park. The festival received an enthusiastic response from citizens with its spectacular opening event featuring performances by popular singers and unique cultural content such as the Tongsinsa Parade.
This evaluation meeting was organized to review the festival’s achievements and areas for improvement, as well as to explore directions for the development of next year’s festival. The meeting was presided over by Promotion Committee Chairperson and Mayor Na Dongyeon, and included a highlight video screening of the Hoeyajae Festival, financial and audit reports, presentation of evaluation results, and a Q&A and discussion session.
Through the report on the 2024 Yangsan Ungsang Hoeyajae Festival evaluation conducted by Youngsan University during the festival period, it was found that there was a high rate of local resident participation, increased sales in local businesses, and positive feedback on the diverse content offered.
In particular, participants gave positive evaluations regarding the festival’s direction, which focused on historical themes of the region, the Tongsinsa Parade involving citizens, and the newly introduced Water Festa. Suggestions for the development of next year’s event were also presented.
Mayor Na Dongyeon stated, “This year’s Hoeyajae Festival stood out for its new attempts and efforts to establish its identity,” adding, “Through today’s evaluation meeting, we will further develop the strengths and address the shortcomings to make it a leading spring festival nationwide.”
