Korea Student Aid Foundation Selects 2,000 Recipients for Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Program... Monthly Stipend of 250,000 to 350,000 Won
The Ministry of Education (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Lee Jooho) and the Korea Student Aid Foundation (Chairman Bae Byungil) announced on the 11th that they have selected 2,000 new students for the Dream and Multicultural categories of the ‘Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship Program’.
Marking its sixth year, the ‘Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship Program’ is funded by the lottery fund of the Lottery Commission under the Ministry of Economy and Finance. It selects outstanding middle and high school students from low-income families with potential and capabilities, providing support through to university.
For 2024, the Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship received a total of 3,730 applications, and through a rigorous process including document screening and in-depth evaluation, 2,000 outstanding middle and high school students were selected.
The selected scholarship recipients will receive monthly academic encouragement funds in the form of card points (250,000 KRW for middle school students, 350,000 KRW for high school students, and 450,000 KRW for university students), which they can use according to their own plans for academics, career exploration, and more, helping them achieve their dreams.
Additionally, to support the emotional well-being of the scholarship recipients, one-on-one mentoring and mental health support programs are offered, along with career competency consulting, to foster their practical growth and self-reliance.
The scholarship payments for new recipients will begin in July, and a ‘celebratory event’ to welcome them will be held at the opening ceremony of the ‘Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Festival’ (scheduled for July 31), where scholarship certificates signed by the Minister of Education will be awarded.
The ‘Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Festival’ will run from July 31 to August 31, providing educational, experiential, and customized programs for the scholarship recipients, helping them foster pride and a sense of unity as national scholarship students.
Bae Byungil, Chairman of the Korea Student Aid Foundation, stated, “I sincerely congratulate you on becoming a Lottery Fund Dream Ladder Scholarship recipient. I support your new beginning as an outstanding scholar and hope this will be an opportunity for you to take another step toward your dreams.”
