Marosol Implements Automation Solution at Korea & Company Factory
Automated Palletizing Solution for Vehicle Batteries
Robot solution company Marosol announced on the 11th that it has completed the establishment of an automated palletizing solution for vehicle batteries at Korea & Company’s Changwon factory.
Vehicle batteries have different import pallet standards depending on the country, and the palletizing patterns for loading cargo onto pallets also vary by customer. The variety of products is diverse, with over 200 possible cases. Marosol explained that by automating such diverse battery palletizing, it has reduced the risk of accidents for workers and increased productivity.
Until now, battery palletizing required workers to manually lift and place batteries weighing up to 60 kg onto pallets. Because of this, workers were exposed to musculoskeletal disorders, and in the event of a fall accident, it could lead to casualties. The logistics cycle was also complex, and even with four workers involved, tasks were often delayed, resulting in high cost burdens.
Marosol standardized palletizing specifications for various pallets, patterns, and products. Through this, Korea & Company was able to increase workload through automation for various pallets and products. The number of workers per line was also reduced from four to one, leading to significant labor cost savings. Marosol expects that the investment cost can typically be recovered in about 1.3 years.
