SeAH to Build Special Alloy Plant in Texas, USA

SeAH Changwon Special Steel, a subsidiary of SeAH Besteel Holdings, plans to invest $110 million (approximately 152.2 billion KRW) to establish steel manufacturing production facilities in Temple, located in central Texas.
Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, who is visiting Korea, held a press conference on the afternoon of the 9th at the Shilla Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, stating, "SeAH's investment is expected to create 100 new jobs, and the state of Texas will provide $910,000 in incentives to SeAH."
SeAH Besteel Holdings has established SeAH Global Holdings, an investment corporation in the U.S., and SeAH Super Alloy Technology (SST), a special alloy production company, and is moving forward with the completion of the SeAH Changwon Special Steel U.S. factory. The U.S. factory is scheduled to be completed by 2026. Once completed, it will have the capacity to produce 6,000 tons of special alloys annually. The SeAH Group currently operates the SeAH Steel mill in Houston, Texas.

Governor Abbott said, "Texas has been ranked the best place to do business by CEOs for 20 consecutive years and is the leading state in creating new jobs in the U.S. SeAH has made a significant contribution to Texas's journey and we appreciate their various business activities." Lee Jung-hoon, CEO of SeAH Changwon Special Steel, said, "Texas is a perfect partner in every aspect. Construction of the new factory is expected to begin in the third quarter of this year, and we anticipate more than 100 direct jobs to be created starting in 2028."
