Running from August 6 to 9 for Summer Vacation, First-Come-First-Served Registration for Children Aged 6 to Elementary Students
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will operate a rock climbing class for children aged 6 to elementary school students at Eungbongsan Artificial Rock Climbing Park from August 6 to 9 during the summer vacation.
Rock climbing uses muscles that are not usually used to climb rock walls, so it provides a high amount of exercise relative to the time invested, and it is a sport that helps improve concentration and physical strength.
In addition, rock climbing is effective for improving flexibility and balance skills, and it also helps problem-solving abilities. It is popular because not only adults but also children can enjoy and learn it in a fun way.
The Eungbongsan Artificial Rock Climbing Wall, established in 1999, consists of indoor and outdoor artificial rock climbing facilities, and professional instructors are responsible for hands-on training focused on equipment usage.
Except for insurance fees, the education is free, and the children's experience class is held four times for two hours each from August 6 to 9. Meanwhile, the adult class is also operated from July to October with eight sessions of two hours each per course.
Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis at the Artificial Rock Climbing Park management office, and detailed information can be obtained by contacting the Seongdong-gu Parks and Greenery Division or the Artificial Rock Climbing Park management office.
