Goheung-gun to Open Children's Water Playground Starting on the 15th

Gohung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Yeong-min) announced the opening of three children's water play areas to welcome the hot summer season.

The 'Children's Water Play Areas' located in densely populated residential areas near Jugong Apartments in Gohung-eup and Nokdong Daycare Center in Doyang-eup will be open from July 15 to August 31, and the 'Gohungman Waterfront Sunset Park Water Play Area' located in Dodeok-myeon will operate from July 24 to August 25.

The Gohung and Doyang water play facilities operate from 1 PM to 6 PM, and the Gohungman water play facility operates from 10 AM to 5 PM. The Gohung and Doyang water play facilities are closed every Monday, and the Gohungman Waterfront Sunset Park is closed every Tuesday.

Additionally, the facilities will be closed during weather warnings or rainy conditions.

The water play areas in the parks are equipped with various comprehensive water play facilities such as ground fountains, as well as convenience facilities like pavilions and shade tents. In particular, the Gohung-eup water play area replaced its outdated combined playground equipment in 2022, greatly increasing children's satisfaction.

Since its opening in 2015, the Gohung-eup water play area has attracted an average of 500 children daily, gaining great popularity, and the Gohungman Waterfront Sunset Park water play area, opened in 2018, has also received strong positive feedback from tourists.

A county official stated, "To respond quickly to any accidents and provide convenience to users, we plan to deploy water play facility managers and safety personnel at the water play areas," adding, "We will do our best to manage the facilities, water quality, and safety so that children can enjoy water play safely, cleanly, and with fun."
