On the 8th (local time), LG Electronics announced on the 9th that it had signed a contract to extend its official sponsorship of the Tennessee Titans, a National Football League (NFL) team in Nashville, Tennessee, for three more years.
The commemorative event held at the Titans Training Center was attended by key figures including Jung Kyu-hwang, Vice President and Head of LG Electronics North America and U.S. subsidiary, Dan Whaley, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Titans, as well as current and former Titans players such as Jebon Kears and Keith Brook.
After signing the sponsorship contract, the attendees communicated with on-site employees at the LG Electronics Tennessee factory. The event was also attended by Wes Golden, Mayor of Montgomery County, Tennessee, and Joe Pitts, Mayor of Clarksville.
LG Electronics plans to further strengthen local community programs such as activities to revitalize the regional economy and home appliance donation campaigns with Titans players.
Since 2021, LG Electronics has officially sponsored the Tennessee Titans for three years. In addition to brand advertising through the Titans’ home stadium scoreboard, LG held a clothing recycling campaign involving players and local residents. It also donated the all-in-one washer-dryer 'WashTower' to local elementary schools for low-income students.
At the end of 2018, LG Electronics established a washing machine factory in Tennessee. The LG Electronics Tennessee factory is a world-class intelligent autonomous factory that has introduced digital technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT), and automated processes using robots. Last year, it was selected as a 'Lighthouse Factory' by the World Economic Forum. A Lighthouse Factory refers to an innovative factory that serves as a beacon, like a lighthouse guiding ships. LG Electronics continues to add production lines at the Tennessee factory, creating jobs and contributing to the development of the local community.
