Gwangju Seo-gu Council Chairpersons Pay Tribute at National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery
The Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City officially began its second half of the 9th term on the 8th, starting with a visit to the National May 18th Democratic Cemetery located in Unjeong-dong.
At around 11 a.m. that day, the council leadership paid tribute at the Memorial Tower with flower offerings and a moment of silence to honor the noble spirit of the May 18th Democratic Movement, marking the start of the second half of the 9th Seo-gu Council and reaffirming their new determination.
Chairman Jeon Seung-il stated, “We will carry on the spirit of the May 18th Democratic Movement by listening to the voices of the residents and doing our best for the development of Seo-gu.”
He also added, “The Seo-gu Council will strengthen communication with residents going forward and, through transparent and efficient legislative activities, will always be recognized by the citizens as a proper council, creating a clean council that is respected and trusted.”
