Democrats: "Prosecutors, Cornered, Summon Lee Jae-myung and Spouse... Phase-Shift Show"
"Stop the Bulletproof Investigation Protecting the Regime"
The Democratic Party of Korea criticized the prosecution's issuance of a summons to former leader Lee Jae-myung and his wife on the 7th as a "diversionary show."
The Democratic Party's Committee for Countermeasures Against Prosecution's Dictatorial Political Oppression held a press conference at the National Assembly in the afternoon, stating, "President Yoon Seok-yeol and the political prosecution, who sacrifice former leader Lee every time the regime faces a crisis, must immediately stop the bulletproof investigation aimed at protecting the regime."

This is related to allegations of private use of corporate cards and official vehicles during Lee's tenure as governor of Gyeonggi Province.
The committee said, "On the very day the Democratic Party passed the special investigation law for fallen marines in the plenary session of the National Assembly, right after submitting an impeachment motion against corrupt prosecutors," adding, "President Yoon and the prosecution, cornered, are trying to change the narrative through an investigation of former leader Lee to escape the crisis?a cowardly and shameless habit."
